what's a bike ride across canada without a visit to the emergency room.  after getting to fredericton, new brunswick i felt exhausted, i did not think i would make it there.  it took every ounce on effort.  i had some chest pain when i took a breath in, as well as shortness of breath.  all through the ride today i had dry heaves and had difficulty eating or drinking.  i took only some amounts in because i knew that i would be more nauseated after each intake.  so i went to the emergency room to get checked out after talking to michele my wife.  doctor mike and the nurses were so nice, they took bloodwork, a chest xray and an electrocardiogram for my heart.  everything looked okay, i just had a flu bug.  the doctor told me to take it easy, but i have another 465 km or so to bike still!  it was about 7:30 when i was released, and i got on my bike and rode for another 65km towards moncton.  i slowly ate a hot dog and crashed in bed hoping to feel better in the morning.
