Well, May has past and we have done our longest rides. I did a 506 km 24 hour ride. Brian and I have also done 300 & 400 km rides. Last Saturday our 400 km took us from Toronto to Wasaga Beach, Midland, Bradford and back to Toronto. It rained and was very cold at night. We were shivering so much that we stopped and bought newspaper to stuff all around our bodies and arms. This helped and we were able to continue the ride. This weekend we will ride about 240 km to near Owen Sound and back the following day for a total of 480 km. Afterwards we will start to taper our distances for the ride. Our bikes are getting ready. Yesterday we had a bike fitting and discovered we both had our seats too high! Also, Brian had a compact crank installed and we both got new chains and rear cassettes. We literally have a big piece of the puzzle when we purchased our support vehicle last week. We are now preparing a 34 foot Fleetwood motorhome which should hold all of us and our stuff. We kick off SpineRide Canada on June 25th from the Canadian Paraplegic Association Meeting in Toronto. We appreciate any words of advice or encouragement!
